Mesh Bikini Wrap
If you want to cover up those killer bikini bottoms before it’s time to shine, then a mesh bikini wrap can be the perfect piece for you. Made out of translucent materials that offer minimal coverage, this piece of cloth can still make you look sultry and conservative at the same time. It comes in different designs, colors, and styles to complement your vary own beachside getup.
History of the beach wrap
This type of beachwear can also be called a pareo, coming from the Tahitian term for women’s garment pareu. Typically, the pareo is worn over the breast up to the knees, while some women only cover the waist down. It was deemed more appropriate in Tahitian cultures to cover the thighs instead. There are many ways of wearing the pareo that it soon became fashionable and appropriate to wear on beaches across many countries.
Different styles
*As a dress
The beach wrap can be worn as a dress that not only covers the waist down but also the upper portion of a woman’s body. One easy way to do this is to wrap the cloth around your body just below the armpits. Once you’re at the end of the cloth, securely tuck it in the corner. Another style is to gather the fabric from behind one’s body, wrap it around from under the arms, and tie it into a knot at the front. The excess fabric from the knot is then rolled tightly into ropes that can be worn as a halter to anchor the dress around the neck.
*As a full-length skirt
A see-through beach cover up can also be worn as a full-length skirt. One way of wearing it as a long skirt is to fold the upper portion of the fabric until you reach the desired length. Wrap the fabric around your waist and tie it into a knot. You can leave the excess cloth hanging, or you can tuck these into the waistband of the skirt to hide it.
*As a mini skirt
If you want to show off your legs, you can opt for ready-made wraparound mini skirts that already have those excess pieces of cloth that you can just tie in. However, if you only have a full-length pareo, you can shorten it by folding it into thirds. Place the folded cloth around your waist twice, and tie the ends together at your sides.
